Far Away And Yet So Close.

So, this ended up being a little later than I wanted it to be, but sometimes life throws some things at you that take priority.
But, I have finally gotten around to writing this post for you guys about the Sojo Spa Club!

I decided to take my mum here for the day because they had a good deal for the winter and I knew that we both needed a day of rest and relaxation. Located in Edgewater, NJ it was just a little over an hour of a drive from where I live, but once we got there...we felt like we were in a different world!

Upon entry everyone must take off their shoes and everyone is assigned their own shoe locker. After that, you take the elevator to the fourth floor where there is Men's and Women's lockers. Once you change into your bathing suit you are provided with a white robe, or you may choose a t-shirt and shorts. On the fourth floor, there are multiple baths, showers and saunas located inside the locker area. Once you step outside there are so many more baths! There is a hydrotherapy bath that has water massagers and the water is about 110 degrees. There is a silk bath which was mine and my mum's favorite. The water was at about 180 degrees and it left your skin feeling so incredibly soft. There was also a carbon bath and one with wooden planks that were infused with lemongrass so it smelled so refreshing and good.

My mum and I went floor by floor so next up was the fifth floor. This floor had the spa where you can get extra services like facials, massages, manicure, pedicure etc. There was a quiet area that had these cool lounge chairs and there were windows all around with a view of the New York skyline. This floor also had the saunas on it. My favorite was the Himalayan Salt sauna, it was so pretty inside and it really helped clear my nose (I have suffered from sinus problems)!

My mum is not the biggest fan of heat so her favorite was the Ice Sauna which was 50 degrees! It was not my favorite, but it did feel kind of good to go in there after the 200 degree saunas!

Up on the sixth floor was where all the food was!! They had a smoothie bar; I got the Green Goddess which had ginger and mint (and other things that I do not remember) and it was really refreshing. There was a variety of food to select from like pizza, burgers to Korean entrees like steamed buns. It is vegatarian friendly!! And the food was delicious!

Steamed Buns with Mushroom and Tofu

Me devouring the delicious steamed buns!

Kale and Quinoa salad....SOOO DELICIOUS!
Stir Fry Chicken Platter

Finally, there was the 7th floor! This has the infinity pool which was amazing and the NY Skyline was your view! During the summer there is a grill here and also a garden, but they were both closed for the season. Also, there was a waterslide, which was closed, but it looks like it could be a lot of fun!

At such a short distance away, I believe that this place is really worth it if you just need a day to "get away". The food is extra and so are spa services so you should probably save up some extra money if you are looking to do that. Other than that it is a really nice and relaxing place. Also! I would recommend going early, when they open, and probably during the week because once it gets busy it gets really packed in the pools and saunas.
