Shine On Baby

As we all have come to see and learn, glowing like a little donut is the trend of the summer. To be honest, I am so grateful because contouring was an art that I could not get a hang of. However, my already oily complexion makes glowing my forte!

Not only does it make you glisten in the sun like some sort of fairy, but it also makes your skin look supple and healthy. I for one, have been obsessed with following Namvo on Instagram so if you do not follow her, please do so now. She calls her look the "Dewy Dumpling" and it is so accurate!!!

Since this trend is one that I gladly partake in, I have decided to share with you lovely people some of my go to and favorite highlighters!

Wisp by Colourpop - This one is my go to highlighter
and has been for probably two years now. I am not ashamed to admit that I jumped on the Colourpop bandwagon. These highlighters are a creamy solid but they are so soft it's like rubbing your finger on velvet. They apply super easily and last a really long time. Also they're only $8, but Colourpop runs sales super often.

Glazed by Colourpop - This one a friend actually gave to me and I LOVED it. It's lighter than Wisp so it gives me a cooler more icier glow. It stands out a lot when Im tan.

Churro by Colourpop - This one is my holy Grail during the summer time. Not only is it named after one of my favorite sweet treats but the color is absolutely gorgeous. It's a perfect picture of a light sparkle, rose gold, gold and bronze. It makes for a tunning combination on the skin!

Butterfly Beach by Colourpop - I thought this one looked really pretty online, but it looks more pink on my skin than I thought it would. I don't use it as often as the other ones, but I still like it a lot and I use it on the apples of my cheeks as a shimmery blush.

Pure Nude by Essence - Unlike the Colourpop highlighters this one is a powder. I apply it with an angled brush and it goes on really nice. On "off days" I wear it by itself, but if I really want to glow then I add one of the Colourpop highlights on top of it. And at only $5, you cannot go wrong!

Illuminating Palette by Wet N Wild - This is also a powder formula that I prefer to apply with a brush. It is a bit more impactful than the Essence, but not as much as the Colourpop ones. I really love the way the pinks and golds conbine though!

Angelic by Ulta - These are liquid highlighting drops and they are POWERFUL!. I literally take a dab on my finger and it makes me SHINE. This color is a beautiful bronze / rose gold and it is only $10. I suggest you go get it now if being a glazed donut is what you aspire to be.
