From Work to Date Night
Hey Loves!
So a little bit ago I promised you that I would write a post on how to easily transform your look from "day to night", "work to play", however you want to phrase it. Working retail, as I currently do, at times can get crazy. And while I make plans, sometimes I have to stay later which shortens my time to get ready...therefore, it is really convenient to be able to switch things up while keeping the same core pieces.
In this post I decided to feature my favorite jumpsuit. Like, seriously...FAVORITE. Somebody returned this to our store after ordering it online. I saw the print from the corner of my eye when I was walking by the register and ran to get my wallet and bought it right away. Two years later and it is still my go to.
I work as a Visual Manager so I am constantly running, lifting, moving items, changing mannequins and so much more. So, while I want to look stylish I also want my outfit to be comfortable. This jumpsuit is made of really super fabric and while it cinches at my waist, the pant legs are wide so it makes it easy to run around in. For work I paired it with a loose and light cardigan and my flat sandals.
I added a few necklaces and of course my Fossil watch (so I know when to go eat ;P). Most of the time you will see me with my hair up because even when I work on my hair and try to wear it down...within half an hour of being at work it ends up going up. I just do not have the patience for it especially when I am trying to put together a table and it keeps falling into my face. I try to alternate between half up half down, a ponytail or a bun! I keep my makeup pretty simple on a day to day basis.
For my date night look I really just switched up what I paired with the jumpsuit. Firstly, I let my hair down and fixed up some waves with my straightener. I also touched up my makeup and added a darker lip color. This is usually my go-to move for changing a look to night time; I feel like a dark lip just adds a sultry feel to any outfit and really ties it all up together.
I switched out my necklace for a more layered one. The sandals for black flats because Bethlehem has the worst sidewalks and I do not trust myself to wear heels out there! I added a black clutch, this one is amazing because it is made of a denim like fabric and has a strip of (faux) leather at the top.
And...for my signature finishing touch..I switched out my cardigan for a leather jacket because what else would be better for making you feel like the sexy bad-ass that you are?!
At the end, it is really easy to transition a look from day to night; the main thing to think about is how you accessorize and style it. For the night time look, pick pieces that really make you feel like a 100 bucks...for me it would be my leather jacket. Also, as I mentioned earlier, add something more dramatic to your makeup look; for me it is always a dark lip because I am horrible with eye makeup, but for you it might be a smokey eye or some winged eyeliner. Everybody's different, but I hope this gave you all some ideas!
xx,
Kasia
